The mighty artists of this Workshop will explore the many possibilities of painting to create works that transcend time and place. Not only will participants develop a painterly practice through techniques such as acrylic, watercolor, and encaustic, but also the power of how to impact the viewer through the use of mood and myth.
Pack your bag—we’re off on an imaginary trip with the artist Chris Ofili to Trinidad! This Caribbean island, where the artist calls home, will inspire colorful two- and three-dimensional projects including some wild costumes and animal masks. The week will culminate with Carnival and artistic celebration for family and friends.
Express your passion for fashion! In this Workshop, participants use personal style as inspiration for developing their very own fashion portfolio. Learn fashion illustration techniques and apparel styling, while keeping an eye on the hottest fashion blogs and magazines. This Workshop will end with a special runway show on the museum’s roof-deck.
