Aspen Art Museum

The Aspen Art Museum is thrilled to offer Dynamic Arts to teens throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. We collaborate with arts organizations within our community to offer students varied modes of art-making experience and exposure to the rich creative culture and history of the Roaring Fork Valley.

Dynamic Arts participants will view and discuss themes of the current art exhibit at the Powers Art Center that will connect them more deeply to the Roaring Fork Valley’s place in art history and the contemporary art world dialogue—art-making activity to follow.

We are offering scholarships of $1,000 to participants with a high level of engagement in the program. Scholarships may be used for tuition, travel, or other activities related to future goals. For more information about the program or scholarships, please email education@aspenartmuseum.org.

About Dynamic Arts

Dynamic Arts is a FREE series of visits aimed at aiding high school students to develop their unique artistic voices through specialized art-making activities, studio visits with working artists, gallery and museum tours, encouraging critical discussion, and creative analysis and reflection.

About Powers Art Center

The Powers Art Center opened in July 2014 with solar and geothermal systems, local materials, and minimalist architecture. Designed by Hiroshi Nanamori, it blends with Carbondale’s landscape, framing Mount Sopris. Free admission promotes art accessibility, offering tours, workshops, and educational programs. The first-floor gallery features rotating exhibits of artists like Warhol, Rauschenberg, Oldenburg, and Lichtenstein. The upper galleries focus on Jasper Johns from 1960 to 2020, including the Jasper Johns’ Study Center for students and researchers.
