Teresita Fernández

Nov 23, 2013-Sep 6, 2015
The artist and 2013 ArtCrush Aspen Award for Art honoree Teresita Fernández created a new mural at the restaurant at Elk Camp in Snowmass. Renowned for her experiential, site-specific sculptural installations, including the permanent works Starfield (2008) at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas, and Seattle Cloud Cover (2006), commissioned by the Seattle Art Museum for the Olympic Sculpture Park, Fernández is inspired by both landscape and place, as well as varied historical and cultural references. Fernández’s new work replaced artist Dave Muller’s Elk Camp project—a site-specific wall drawing entitled Aspen Skiing Company Music Survey Results and Generated Topography (The Hills Are Alive…).
Teresita Fernández’s Golden Panorama (Snowmass Mountain), is commissioned by the Aspen Art Museum and the Aspen Skiing Company and funded in part by the AAM National Council. Additional support is provided by the Diane and Bruce Halle Foundation for Latin American Art.
