Alice Channer: R o c k f a l l

Feb 13, 2015-May 31, 2015
For her first solo museum exhibition in the US, British artist Alice Channer presents R o c k f a l l, a newly commissioned outdoor sculpture. Using industrial materials and “postindustrial” processes to make objects that mimic natural events, Channer presents a horizontal rockfall—a series of manipulated, elongated rocks that stretch in and around the Aspen Art Museum. Positioned both as part of and in direct contrast to the vast mountain landscape that surrounds the museum, R o c k f a l l continues Channer’s exploration of the relationship between bodies and nature.

AAM exhibitions are made possible by the Marx Exhibition Fund.

Alice Channer’s R o c k f a l l is supported by the Simone and Kerry Vickar Roof Deck Sculpture Fund, and funded in part by the AAM National Council.
