9:30 AM–1:00 PM
This two-day retreat for educators who teach K–12 level students in schools and nonprofit organizations will provide opportunities for creating, critiquing, and connecting through the lens of contemporary art. With a special focus on object-based learning, this retreat will explore material culture as a way to empower youth to be engaged participants in society and build social capital.
This event is co-hosted by Stacey Shelnut Hendrick, the Director of Education at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, California, and recipient of the National Association of Art Education’s 2017 Museum Educator of the Year award.
