    • This season, the AAM’s Movies at the Museum program highlights the theme “Eye in the Sky.” Over the years, depictions of surveillance have been one of cinema’s go-to methods for creating tension. Exploring the boundaries of privacy, feelings of alienation, and the paranoia of espionage, these films invite viewers to examine their own relationships between private and public.

    • 4 PM Experience

      Arte en Español

      Drawing on the wealth of Spanish speakers in the Roaring Fork Valley, the museum presents activities for all ages from 4–6 p.m., entirely in Spanish. Featuring guided tours, family art-making activities, and more, this special event is free and open to the public en Español.

    • Join professional engineer Gregory Kingsley for a lecture on the structural engineering elements of the new Aspen Art Museum building—presented as part of the nationwide 2016 Engineers Week, a program that celebrates how engineers make a difference through their professional and volunteer work.

      Free, drop-in spotlight tours led by museum staff are offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 1 p.m.

    • This after-school program for kids in grades K–4 is held weekly at the Aspen Art Museum from September through May. Taking place most Wednesdays from 2:30–4 p.m., these workshops recognize the value of exposing children to the arts at an early age and use the artist’s process as an educational tool. Museum educators and teaching artists lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.

      Classes are limited to fifteen participants. Prior registration is strongly encouraged.

    • Join artist Shinique Smith as she discusses her installation at Elk Camp, Resonant Tides (2015) with AAM’s Nancy and Bob Magoon CEO and Director, Heidi Zuckerman, and Aspen Skiing Company’s President and CEO, Mike Kaplan. The gondola begins running at 4:45 p.m.

    • Held once a month from 10:30–11:30 a.m., these free community workshops provide playful exploration of storytelling for young audiences with their parents or caregivers. This level of Art Studio is offered free of charge and is first come, first served.
