This winter break, the museum offers a week of concurrent workshops for 4–5 year olds and 6–10 year olds to take inspiration from artists whose works are on view at the museum. Each day tackles a new creative challenge, winter activities, and a chance to play through art making. Lunch will be provided, and participants may sign up for the entire week or choose à la carte.

This winter, explore the artistic process through a first-hand look at the lives and works of leading contemporary artists. These recently released documentaries provide rare, unprecedented access into the creation and display of the art that defines our times.
Free, drop-in spotlight tours led by museum staff are offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 1 p.m.

These community workshops provide playful art exploration for young audiences with their parents or caregivers. The Levels 0–2 and 3–5 Years are offered free of charge on a first come, first serve basis.
Active Art invites seniors to engage in the social dimensions of art. Museum educators bring free, memory-enhancing activities to the assisted living communities of Whitcomb Terrace in Aspen and Heritage Park in Carbondale. Physically independent seniors are invited for monthly gatherings at the Aspen Art Museum, where drawing activities and complimentary refreshments are offered at SO, the Andrea and James Gordon café.
Story Art is a community outreach program that provides playful exploration of storytelling for young audiences with their parents or caregivers. This free community program builds visual literacy and art appreciation in the Basalt Regional Library and Carbondale Branch Library.

This after-school program for kids in Grades K–4 is held most Wednesdays during the school year at the AAM. Museum educators lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.
