Join us on Thursday, March 9, at 6:30 p.m., for the Opening Reception for Haris Epaminonda’s VOL. XXII and the group exhibition Gravity & Grace. There is a 5:30 p.m. members’ walkthrough with AAM Curator Courtenay Finn and artist Haris Epaminonda.
Monthly drop-in Family Workshops at the AAM are designed to provide children and adults free opportunities to explore the galleries and create works of art on their own. Families are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together.
All Family Workshops are free of charge and are first come, first served for families with children ages 3–10. Workshops begin in the Education Workshop, giving families choices for self-guided or educator-led activities and art-making stations.
Free, drop-in spotlight tours led by museum staff are offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 1 p.m.
Since 2005, the Aspen Art Museum and the Aspen Skiing Company have collaborated to bring contemporary art to audiences in unexpected places. Each year, an artist is commissioned to produce artworks that are used on lift tickets for the winter season.
Create Your Own Lift Ticket workshops are offered throughout the season for kids and families to respond to these designs by creating a personal lift ticket with the help of AAM educators.
For the first three Saturdays in March, join us on Level 3 from 3–5 p.m. for an Après-Ski offering of spectacular mountain views, art making, live music, free snacks, and discounts at the café. Rotating lineups of local talent and an art station with Create Your Own Lift Ticket ensure fun for all ages. The final après event culminates with a viewing and celebration of the World Cup on Aspen Mountain.
Free, drop-in spotlight tours led by museum staff are offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 1 p.m.
This after-school program for kids in Grades K–4 is held most Wednesdays during the school year at the AAM. Museum educators lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.
Limited class size; prior registration strongly encouraged.
