Aspen Art Museum

Join museums and universities across the country to edit, enhance, and add Wikipedia entries on female figures in the art world. Bring your laptop to Level 3 between 11AM–3PM and receive tutorials from museum staff on the editorial process. Childcare and refreshments will be provided in this free, community-organized event that is presented in association with Art+Feminism’s international campaign to make Wikipedia more gender balanced.

Artists in the Making is an eight-week program that offers middle school students in Aspen and Basalt the opportunity to develop specialized skills driven by self-innovation. Community experts who visit select sessions and mentor students work in tandem with an AAM Educator to create a uniquely tailored experience that concludes with a celebratory showcase for friends and family. This after-school program for kids in Grades K–4 is held most Wednesdays during the school year at the AAM. Museum educators lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.

Classes are limited to fifteen participants. Prior registration strongly encouraged.

A lonely, aging movie star and a neglected, newlywed young woman form an unlikely bond after crossing paths in Tokyo. Strangers in a foreign land, the two find escape, distraction, and understanding amidst the bright city lights.

The AAM tailors special visits and workshops for homeschool families and programs in the Roaring Fork Valley. Each workshop provides an opportunity for parents and children to learn about contemporary art while creating a work of art together as a family. Parents also learn techniques and skills for creating their own art experiences at home. A complimentary brown bag lunch is included following the workshop.
