Active Art invites seniors to engage in the social dimensions of art. Each month, museum Educators bring free, memory-enhancing activities to the assisted living communities of Whitcomb Terrace in Aspen and Heritage Park in Carbondale.
ArtCrush is Aspen’s premier summer event benefiting the Aspen Art Museum. This year’s event features the 2018 Aspen Award for Art presentation, a remarkable wine tasting, seated dinner, and both a Live and Silent Auction of major works of contemporary art.
A fun-filled dance party, AfterPartyCrush takes place at Aspen’s leading late-night entertainment venue, Belly Up, and features live music from world-famous artist Jellybean Benitez.

Experiment with size and scale in this outrageous workshop for young sculptors. From the minuscule to larger-than-life, students will build flamboyant structures using a variety of surprising materials. Each day’s sculpture will expand on the previous, resulting in a unique new body of work.
Boo hoo, only one hue? On the contrary! Find out how exciting painting with just one color can be. We’ll learn how to mix unlimited tints, tones, and shades, and experiment with value and the gray scale, too, using graphite and charcoal, creating a frenzy of visually cohesive and expressive monochromatic abstractions.
Calling all naturalists! Bird watching, animal tracking, and mapping in and around Hallam Lake will inspire new drawings, paintings, and environmentally friendly assemblages: artworks that reveal our favorite places and creatively interpret the places that people and animals call home.
Presented in collaboration with the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS), this free chamber concert series features one-hour performances by the most advanced AMFS students and visiting musicians in Aspen.

Agnès Varda, a leading figure of French New Wave cinema, and JR, a photographer and muralist, have two things in common: a passion for connecting with people and places. After meeting in 2015, they undertook a journey that began in nostalgia and ended in a new friendship.
