Story Art is a community outreach program presented in partnership with the Carbondale Branch Library and the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. This free program for elementary and middle school students provides playful exploration of storytelling through a group reading and art-making activity inspired by AAM exhibitions.

This after-school program for kids in Grades K–4 is held most Wednesdays during the school year at the AAM. Museum Educators lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.
Monthly drop-in Family Workshops at the AAM are designed to provide children and adults free opportunities to explore the galleries and create works of art on their own. Families are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together.

Calling all creative adults: find inspiration from artists and artworks and connect with others! Join AAM’s Artist Programs Coordinator Teresa Booth Brown and a presenting artist from the local community for a spirited conversation and art-making activity. This free program starts with a nontraditional discussion of a current exhibition and ends with an imaginative mixer.
The AAM is celebrating the opening of Abraham Cruzvillegas: Hi, how are you, Gonzo? (Galleries 4, 5, 6, and Crown Commons) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, with a gallery walkthrough with the AAM’s Nancy and Bob Magoon CEO and Director Heidi Zuckerman! Join us for delicious snacks from SO Café, free wine and beer, music, and a complimentary art-making activity for all ages on Level 3.
