Family Workshop

Jun 11, 2016
10:00 AM
637 E. Hyman Ave

Monthly drop-in Family Workshops at the AAM are designed to provide children and adults free opportunities to explore the galleries and create works of art on their own. Participants get to know one another better through engagement with exhibitions. Families are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together.

Artist Focus: Judith Scott

All Family Workshops are free of charge and are first come, first served for families with children ages 3–10. Workshops begin in the Education Workshop, giving families choices for self-guided or educator-led activities and art-making stations.

AAM education programs are made possible by the Questrom Education Fund. Education Workshop support is provided by Melva Bucksbaum and Raymond Learsy and Mary and Patrick Scanlan. Scholarships for AAM Workshops are funded by Cari and Michael J. Sacks.

AAM exhibitions are made possible by the Marx Exhibition Fund. General exhibition support is provided by the Toby Devan Lewis Visiting Artist Fund.

Judith Scott—Bound and Unbound is organized by the Brooklyn Museum. The exhibition is curated by Catherine J. Morris, Sackler Family Curator for the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, Brooklyn Museum, and Matthew Higgs, artist and Director/Chief Curator of White Columns.
In Aspen, the exhibition is overseen by Heidi Zuckerman, Nancy and Bob Magoon CEO and Director. The presentation of Bound and Unbound in Aspen is funded in part by the AAM National Council.
