Local librarians will be in the galleries giving out library cards and book recommendations inspired by Abraham Cruzvillegas’s exhibition Hi, how are you, Gonzo? Only visiting Aspen? The library gives out both short-term and long-term cards that grant access to all the great facilities, resources, and events it provides to the community. This after-school program for kids in Grades K–4 is held most Wednesdays during the school year at the AAM. Museum Educators lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.

Join AHS Choral and Vocal Music Director/IB Music Teacher Erica Nottingham with her talented students for open-mic musical performances and improvisations. Audience members will have the chance to try out musical instruments of their choice. All ages welcome!

Active Art invites seniors to engage in the social dimensions of art. Each month, museum Educators bring free, memory-enhancing activities to the assisted living communities of Whitcomb Terrace in Aspen and Heritage Park in Carbondale, and also host art making in the museum’s Roof Deck Sculpture Garden with complimentary refreshments.

The AAM is celebrating the opening of Oscar Murillo’s Social Altitude (Gallery 1) and Seth Price’s No Technique (Gallery 2 & 3) on Thursday, November 22 beginning at 5:30 p.m.! Join us for delicious snacks from SO Café, free wine and beer, music, and a complimentary art-making activity for all ages on Level 3.
