Sculpt, splatter, glitter, and glaze your own pots in this wild ceramics Workshop. Students will learn hand-building techniques for decorative and functional pieces. To show off our creations, we’ll plan a crazy tea party for our family and friends at the end of the week.

Make the stories of your imagination come to life in this playful Workshop. Students will develop a storyline with a setting and characters, draw a storyboard, and use a digital camera to animate their own film. After one week of production, a special screening will be held for family and friends in the Education Workshop. Students are strongly encouraged to bring a digital camera, iPhone, or tablet.

From the dense undergrowth of jungles to the open shores of Hallam Lake, kids will explore real and imagined landscapes. We will experiment with foreground, middle ground, and background, creating layers with mixed media, natural materials, and unexpected objects. Wild colors, bold shapes, and expressive patterns are sure to be spotted in our final artworks!

Let art and spectacular views elevate your experience of music. Presented in collaboration with the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS), this free chamber concert series takes place this summer in the Roof Deck Sculpture Garden, featuring one-hour performances by the most advanced AMFS students and visiting musicians in Aspen.

Family Workshops are free monthly drop-in opportunities that provide children and adults a chance to explore the galleries and create works of art on their own. Families get to know one another better through engagement with new artists and ideas. Families are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together.

Tapping into the subconscious, this alternative gallery experience allows registered participants to explore the exhibitions Chris Ofili: Night and Day and Spirit Photography through dreams. Beginning with a lecture from Jungian analyst Stephen Foster on the unconscious realm and a late-night tour of the museum, this event invites participants to sleep in Gallery 4 and awake in the morning for a facilitated dream interpretation. Check out a rotating lineup of DJs, design goods, and a bagel brunch. Presented in collaboration with Gravity Productions, Bagels & Bass brings a fresh experience to the museum’s roof-deck over four Sundays in August. This week: Danni G and ROAM
How many ways can you make a mark? Kids will draw, paint, and print their way through the lines and shapes of their imagination. We will explore making playful forms using utensils to create as well as learn printmaking techniques. Finding our voice through brave expressions is the name of the game!
