Discover the power of drawing to transform ordinary blank pages into incredible works of art. We will respond to creative challenges in the galleries, studio, and outdoors that hone our large-scale drawing skills. Throughout the week, we will explore techniques of shadowing, perspective, and contouring inspired by larger-than-life artworks and artists.
Active Art invites seniors to engage in the social dimensions of art. Museum educators bring free, memory-enhancing activities to the assisted living community of Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale.
Drop-in Family Workshops at the AAM are designed to provide children and adults free opportunities to explore contemporary art and create works of art on their own. Families are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together.

As an introduction to the work of American artist Wade Guyton (b. 1972), and Swiss artists Peter Fischli (b. 1952) and David Weiss (1946–2012), known together as Fischli and Weiss, and the forthcoming building-wide collaboration Wade Guyton Peter Fischli David Weiss, the Aspen Art Museum and Aspen Film copresent an evening of the artists’ films.
